In Dunedin

We have made the journey from Invercargill to Dunedin, and today enjoyed a tour of the Otago Peninsula. Weather was very cold and windy, but scenery still spectacular. We did manage to see a single blue penguin after a long and cold wait on the beach! Tomorrow, we head into the city to tour Speights Brewery and Cadbury World! Oh Joy, Beer and Chocolate!

Rainbow Reach, start of Kepler Track

Welcome All. Having taken a nice leisurely drive to Queenstown, we decided to keep the pace by going for a ride on the Skyline to view the city. Of course, being Queenstown we then submitted to the faster pace of life by taking the Luge back to the restaurant - Loads of fun!! We then travelled to Te Anau where we went on a great Glow worm trip and had a nice waterfall-filled day at Milford Sound (which finished with a soaked-through dash to the camper!). We are now in Invercargill, NZ's southern most city. From here we are taking a trip across the water to Stewart Island, Paterson Inlet and Ulva Island which is known for it's protected bird colonies. We will then be heading back North via Dunedin and the east coast.

Lake Matheson

Lake Matheson

Hi everyone, this update comes from Wanaka. We've completed our tour of the West Coast now, the main highlights being the Franz Josef and Fox Glaciers in the Southern Alps. We spent some time around Haast, before enjoying the long and scenic drive to Wanaka, which is a beautiful lakeside holiday town. We are staying on a great campsite which has good views of the lakes and mountains. We are both keeping well and enjoying a few days relaxing and doing a bit of admin (shopping, van WOF (like an MOT), laundry and such things), before we move on to Queenstown and Fiordland. We are now in our 15th week since leaving the UK, doesn't time fly! Love to all.
