Hi all. We have just completed an extensive tour of Tasman and Golden Bays, in the far North of the South Island. Weather has been great, hot and sunny. Lots to see and do in this area. We are now heading down the West Coast, Westport and Greymouth. We have just uploaded another 24 photos to flickr.

We've made it to the South Island now and are currently in Nelson. We had a super smooth crossing over the Cook Strait, which is quite rare we are told! No sea sickness thank goodness! This photo shows Lee relaxing at a camp site in Cable Bay, about 15mins drive North of Nelson. It was a beautiful spot. Have uploaded 11 new photos, some of which show this paradise. We are both keeping fit and well, not too much sunburn, and more outside activity is having a positive effect on our waistlines! Best wishes to everyone back home and family in NZ.

Update from Wellington

We left Auckland just before New Year and have been steadily making our way down the West Coast to catch our Ferry to Picton in the South Island from Wellington. We were due to sail on Saturday 14th January but felt we needed a little longer to explore the Wellington region so have changed the departure date to Monday 16th. Internet access has been very limited as we travelled around, with the internet points being kiosks (and expensive) with no means to connect iPod/Digital Camera. Only now in Wellington do we have that facility again, since leaving Auckland. We've seen a lot over the last two weeks, highlights would have to be Cambridge, New Plymouth and Mount Taranaki, Stratford and Wanganui. We finally bought our bikes in Wanganui, so our now looking forward to the variety of mountain bike trails around Wellington. Today we took the famous cable car in Wellington followed by a walk around the botanical gardens. Lots of photos just downloaded, so will now upload a selection to the flickr site. Enjoy !
